The Union County Development Association endeavors to provide better housing opportunities for our expanding and future workforce as means of attracting other investments into the community. Investments include businesses, industries, research facilities, public improvements, and related projects that improve the quality of life and economic stability of the county.
The UCDA Housing committee completes a 5 year annual housing assessment based on determined needs and desires of the communities and rural residents of Union County. UCDA has charged itself with the task of having a complete understanding of the county housing stock and trends so that the needs and desires, in relationship to workforce housing of existing an future business and industry, can be met. It is the intent of the UCDA Housing committee to provide an assessment tool that will aide in the achievement of affordable, quality housing for future residents of all income groups so that the local economy can be as strong as possible.
The 2004 Union County Housing Needs Assessment and Action Plan (A Housing Study for 2004-2009) is available as a resource for future housing developments with in the county. Contact the UCDA office for information on how to purchase a copy of the Needs Assessment. |
