Designated Housing Enterprise Zones are targeted areas where tax benefits are offered to attract new housing construction or rehabilitation to stimulate economic development.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Construct/rehabilitate a minimum of 4 single family homes or a multi family building containing at least 3 units.
  • Must meet HUD Housing Quality Standards and local housing codes
  • Must be completed within 2 years of the start date of construction

Tax Benefits:

  • Refund of state sales, service, and use taxes paid during construction
  • Investment tax credit of up to 10% of the new investment directly related to the construction or rehabilitation of housing. The tax credit is on the first $140,000 of value for each home/unit.
